What is
Soul Centered Healing ?
“The goal of Soul-Centered Healing is to help a person become clear, centered, and confident in the present.”
My Introduction to Soul-Centered Healing
During my Clinical Hypnotherapy studies, I stumbled upon—or perhaps was intuitively guided toward—the work of American psychologist Dr. Tom Zinser and his book, Soul-Centered Healing: A Psychologist’s Extraordinary Journey Into the Realms of Sub-Personalities, Spirits, and Past Lives. His fascinating story and paradigm-shifting exploration of consciousness, along with his relentless pursuit of deeper healing for his clients, left me inspired, transformed, and deeply intrigued.
As fate—or synchronicity—would have it, my completion of Clinical Hypnotherapy studies coincided perfectly with the first-ever intake of Soul-Centered Healing students in 2020.
Over the past several years, I, along with a small group of doctors, therapists, and healing practitioners, have had the rare opportunity to immerse ourselves in the foundational materials, case studies, and profound insights that emerged from Dr. Zinser’s decades of work in psychology and the development of Soul-Centered Healing.
Through both study and practice, I’ve come to understand the intricate "inner worlds" we all carry within us. It is a privilege to facilitate this work, and even now, I remain in awe of the depth, consistency, and effectiveness of SCH protocols. The healing journey is not linear—it is meandering, surprising, and sacred. It is a process that defies measurement yet holds immeasurable value, offering transformation, clarity, and a profound reconnection with the true self.
What is Soul-Centered Healing?
Soul-Centered Healing (SCH) is a therapeutic model developed by Dr. Tom Zinser that integrates psychological and spiritual dimensions to facilitate deep healing at the soul level. It recognizes that human experience is shaped not only by the conscious and unconscious mind but also by deeper forces—including the higher self, sub-personalities (ego-states), the soul, energetic attachments, entities, and spiritual influences.
At its core, SCH is about integration—helping individuals reclaim lost, fragmented, or hidden aspects of themselves in order to restore wholeness. This process reconnects you with your true essence and promotes healing across all levels—mental, emotional, physical, psychic, and spiritual.
Key Aspects of Soul-Centered Healing
The Higher Self – The higher self is the guiding intelligence of the soul, acting as a source of wisdom, healing, and connection to the Light. It plays a central role in SCH, providing insight, direction, and protection throughout the healing process.
Sub-Personalities (Ego-States) – These are fragmented aspects of the psyche, often formed as protective responses to trauma. Some sub-personalities are aligned with the self, while others may act in opposition, creating internal conflicts. SCH helps recognize, communicate with, and integrate these parts to restore inner balance.
The Soul’s Journey – SCH acknowledges that healing goes beyond the present lifetime. The soul carries experiences, patterns, and wounds from past lives, which can influence current struggles. Healing at this level involves accessing soul memory, resolving past-life trauma, and re-establishing the soul’s clarity and purpose.
Energetic Attachments & External Influences – In some cases, individuals carry energies that are not their own—whether from external sources, unresolved past-life connections, or spirit attachments. These influences can create emotional distress, mental confusion, or blockages. SCH works to identify, release, and clear these interferences, allowing the person to regain full autonomy over their energy.
The Process of Integration – True healing is not just about symptom relief—it is about integration. SCH facilitates the reintegration of lost soul fragments, sub-personalities/ego-states, and disconnected aspects of the self, bringing them back into harmony with the core Self. This process leads to a deeper sense of clarity, confidence, and empowerment.
Through guided sessions, SCH helps individuals uncover the unseen layers of their conscious and un-conscious experience, access deeper levels of healing, and re-establish a strong connection with their higher self and soul essence.
A systematic therapeutic intervention that helps you become:
Clear: of symptoms, interfering energies, blockages, trauma and external influences
Centered: An integration and alignment with all parts of the self, including sub-personalities/ego-states
Confident: Empowered and energised to live life with intention, volition and authenticity
How was it developed?
This is where things get really interesting. The full story is detailed in Soul-Centered Healing: A Psychologist’s Extraordinary Journey Into the Realms of Sub-Personalities, Spirits, and Past Lives, but in short—Dr. Zinser’s work took an unexpected and groundbreaking turn.
Dr. Zinser began his career as a clinical psychologist working closely with clients diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder (now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder). He found hypnotherapy and Parts Therapy (also called Ego State Therapy) to be effective tools for working with these individuals. However, over time, he encountered recurring roadblocks—certain clients would reach impasses in their healing, and no conventional approach seemed to move them forward.
Then, something unexpected happened. During hypnotherapy sessions, some "parts" or "sub-personalities" began to insist that they were not part of the client at all—they were something, or someone, else entirely. These entities spoke with certainty, claiming separate identities beyond the client’s psyche. Intrigued but uncertain, Dr. Zinser began researching topics traditionally considered outside the realm of psychology—possession, spirits, and paranormal phenomena—to make sense of what he was encountering.
A breakthrough came when a staff member at his practice overheard him discussing these challenges. She revealed that, as a teenager, she had once channeled a being but had stopped out of fear. Encouraged by their conversation, she attempted to channel again—and succeeded.
Dr. Zinser met with the being she channeled and was stunned by what followed. This entity possessed knowledge about his clients that no one could have known—insights that provided missing pieces to their struggles and revealed pathways to healing beyond what traditional therapy could offer.
This discovery led to a profound collaboration. With full client consent, Dr. Zinser, the channel, and the being—who identified himself as Gerod—began meeting regularly to discuss client sessions. Through these conversations, they explored the structure of the inner mind, the influence of spirits and attachments, and the role of the higher self in the healing process. Over many sessions, observations, and refinements, they developed what is now known as Soul-Centered Healing—a model that bridges psychology and spirituality to facilitate deep, transformative healing at the soul level.
The Approach.
Soul-Centered Healing (SCH) is a form of hypnotherapy that uses specific methods and protocols to work at the unconscious levels of the mind, identifying the source of pain, distress, or conflict. The process is guided by direct engagement with the higher self, using ideomotor responses to bypass interference from the conscious mind and access deeper levels of awareness.
Healing follows a structured process of:
1. Identify – Finding the Source of Pain
The first step is to uncover the root cause of distress. Whether the source is a sub-personality carrying past trauma, an external entity attempting to influence the self, or a past-life experience breaking through into the present, SCH works to pinpoint where and why symptoms have emerged. The higher self plays a crucial role in directing this process, ensuring that the deepest and most relevant issues are addressed.
2. Share – Bringing the Experience to Light
Once the source is identified, it is brought into conscious awareness. In the case of sub-personalities, this may involve giving them a voice to express their experiences. For past-life traumas, the person may witness or relive the event safely, allowing for understanding and resolution. If external attachments or entities are involved, the SCH process helps them recognize their presence and acknowledge the impact they are having.
3. Release – Resolving and Letting Go
The next phase involves releasing what no longer serves the self. This may include:
Helping a sub-personality recognize that it is no longer trapped in the past
Guiding an external entity to detach and move on
Resolving a past-life trauma that is still influencing the present
Dissolving energetic blockages that have caused fear, confusion, or distress
4. Integrate – Restoring Wholeness
True healing occurs through integration. As the self reclaims its lost or disconnected parts, it restores inner balance, clarity, and a sense of empowerment. Sub-personalities merge back into the whole self, past-life wounds are healed, and external influences are removed—allowing the person to regain a stronger, clearer, and more authentic connection with their soul.
By identifying, sharing, releasing, and integrating, SCH works to clear deep-rooted unconscious patterns, remove energetic and psychological blocks, and restore harmony across all levels of being—mental, emotional, physical, psychic, and spiritual.
